Old Shop Door Turned into MY New Headboard!

My parents neighbor recently replaced his shop door and had the old one leaning against his fence. I saw it and asked it I could have it. He immediately said yes take it, do you want anything else. I told him not to tempt me haha. So my Dad, Mom, and I made the panels to replace the glass. We covered ply wood with blue silk. Then we put them back in the slots and nailed the trim back in. Then my dad created a cleat so we could hang it on the wall while I supervised. I’m not allowed to use power tools yet, but I want to learn how to. Then we installed it and VOILA here it is. The paint color is the original color the door was, I didn’t paint it. I can’t believe how well it looks with my bedding. I love it! You can make one too. Just try. I wish I had another bed so I could makes another one, it was so much fun hanging out with my Dad and making something.

Have a wonderful day!!

PS. The side table on the right hand side I got for free from the trash. My Dad and I restored it too and I LOVE it!

I Believe in YOU

If you know me then you know that I truly believe in people. I believe that they can be anything they want to be. No matter if that is a doctor, an artist, or even the president. If you believe in yourself then you can do anything your heart desires.

My favorite thing in the whole world is to help people, even if that is only telling someone that I believe in them. Because sometimes that’s all someone needs, for someone to say “I BELIEVE IN YOU”. I truly meanit when I say it to. I would never say something like that and not mean it with all my heart.

I have a part time job and through that I get to help people paint. It may be a little thing but I absolutely enjoy helping them with anything they need. Whether is to show them how to make a circle, say they can do it, or even touch up a spot they messed up on. I get a tingly feeling of appreciate from each person I help out. They get so happy with the smallest help from me. I have also realized that I can mix colors very well, its a talent that I didn’t know I had, but has helped me fulfill some of my costumers requests.

I also believe that miracles happen. I only need to look at my friends and family to know its true. One of my friends Nicole Marquez fell 6 stories and broke her neck. She couldn’t walk without help and had to go through rehab to learn how to walk again. A little over a year later she is now fully recovered. I am so proud of her and her amazing strength that she battled through the pain and came out whole again. She could have easily given up at any point throughout the year, but she didn’t. She is an amazing dancer and now she can dance again. Words can’t express how in awe of her I am. I don’t even know if I could have gone through what she went through and come through it as well and as fast as she did. She is truly an inspiration to me.

I honestly and sincerely Believe in you.

Bib Necklace That I Made

Yes, I made this bib necklace. I looked at a LOT of tutorials before deciding which would work best for me. And since me and the needle and thread got in a knock out drag down fight I went with the hot glue…hey it worked and since its just for me it doesn’t matter.

Here’s another pic of it. I chose these colors because my football team happens to be the New Orleans SAINTS!! They have always been my favorite and always will be no matter if they win or lose. Hopefully they will make it to Super Bowl, I would be so HAPPY!!

Here’s me dressed up today. I love my new necklace. I am going to reconcile with the needle and thread so I can start making these to sell. I have a lot of different colors like blue, cream, white, black, red(for valentines duh!), and many patterns that are colorful. So check back and I’ll let you know when I  have more. Or if you want one leave a comment with the colors you would want and I’ll quote you a price. :)

Karma

Do you believe in Karma?

I do!

I believe that what comes around goes around.

I believe that if you blame someone else for something you actually did. Then you will pay for it.

People People PEOPLE!!

Don’t use someone else as a scapegoat. Its not pretty or flattering when you think everyone else is below you and you can’t possibly make mistakes.

BECAUSE HELLO EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES.

If you’re saying to yourself right now, “I don’t make mistakes” then you are too self righteous.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but someone had to do it.

If you keep thinking you are above everyone else then one day you will wake up and have no friends because you pushed them all away with your HUGE ego.

I make mistakes all the time. But I learn from them and I’m a better person for it. I don’t think I’m above anyone else. I treat everyone the way I would be treated even if they don’t deserve it.

So People, People, PEOPLE please treat everyone as you would want to be treated!!

Would you want someone to use you as a scapegoat, no I didn’t think so.

So the lesson for today is to be nice to everyone, don’t use anyone in anyway especially as a scapegoat, and don’t be self righteous.

Zoey

Zoey is my 3 year old salt and pepper Miniature Schnauzer. She was made for me. The reason I say that is that she is so much like me. All she wants is to be loved. She has sweet eyes that just make me know how much she loves me. She follows me everywhere I go. If anyone is anywhere within site of me she barks at them to alert me and protect me. She maybe small but she is very fierce. She is my schnauzer love. Anyone who has ever owned a schnauzer will know what I’m talking about. Zoey is very loyal to me and loves me unconditionally. She is special. Her mother is owned by my parents. She was supposed to be sold but she had something wrong with her legs. She didn’t walk until well after all the other puppies and normally drug her hind legs around until she could walk properly. So my parents couldn’t sell her because the vet couldn’t say if it was genetic or if she was just stepped on. Since I had fallen in love with her from day one I asked if I could have her. Obviously they said yes and I got to be the Mom to the most special puppy in the litter. Today you would never know her legs were ever hurt because she runs like the wind. She was just meant to be mine so God made it so.

Now here is my impromptu photo shoot with Zoey the other night. She was not happy with my flash after about the 5th picture, but she’s a good sport.

Momma here’s my profile.

I’ll lay down now.

I decided to sprawl out for you Momma.

I think you’re a little close Momma. But at least you’re getting my good side.

Don’t forget to get a picture of my green bling Momma.

I will Zoey, don’t worry.

OK I’m tried of this. Can you stop taking my picture. I have colored spots in my eyes and I can only see in black and white.

Seriously Momma, I’m going to sleep so I can’t see you anymore.

I’m ignoring you good night.

That’s Zoey, my schnauzer love. She may not love when I take a ton of pictures of her, but she still loves me. Bet if I say wanna go outside she will be happy with me again.

Yep I knew it, she wasn’t sleeping, just ignoring me.

Relationships

Ok I’m totally confused about relationships and the male species. I am a decent looking girl, I have a good job, I own my house, I get along with my parents and pretty much everyone but for the life of me I can’t hold on to a guy. Its like guys like the idea of me but not really me (yeah I kinda stole that from a movie, but its the truth). Guys say they have always wanted a girl like me but then we date and they end up breaking up with me for whatever reason but they always says that its them and not me and that I’m too good for them. But for real when will I be “bad” enough for someone. Because I’m obviously already “good” enough for them. I’m just so tired of finding out yet another ex boyfriend has gotten married, it makes me feel even more single than I did before. Then there’s the ex boyfriends that got married and then recently got divorced and want to be friends again which is code for I want to get back together with you. Why would I get back together with you when you are the one that broke up with me? Not that I haven’t dated a guy twice but I’m done with that because getting rejected twice really hurts so I’m over that.
I just want to find a good/decent guy that likes me for me. I want a guy that thinks I’m pretty when I have my glasses on, no makeup, and my hair up in a pony tail. I want a guy that would rather stay in and watch a movie then go out and party. I want a guy that knows how to fix things around the house. I want a guy that is laid back and doesn’t mind my huge family because they are apart of me. I want a guy who wants to get married and have kids. A guy who likes cats and dogs since I have both. I want a guy who can drink without getting drunk. I want a guy who has flaws and is not perfect or cookie cutter. There are guys like this out there because I know them, they are my friends, uncle’s, paw-paw, and dad.
So hopefully I can find a guy that has all these qualities. It may not be today or tomorrow but it will be one day. I’m not waiting for the perfect guy, I’m waiting for the perfect guy for me.

I participated in an international gift exchange on Craftaholics Anonmymous. I sent off my gift a little late due to resin drying. And the day after I received my own gift in the mail.

I received this little cute gingerbread man ornament. He’s been hanging out with all my other ornaments. I think he’s so cute. He’s made out of felt with red buttons and ric rac. I love that he’s half eaten too. Thanks Rachel!! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
